PhotoPainting

Following on from previous endeavours and techniques, Kim has been fascinated by the distillation of the photographic image. The series demands the viewer to “read” between the lines, moreover creating a mysterious beauty. Photo Painting results in becoming manipulative and thus more… than the reality of a photographic image… breaking boundaries but still using a mechanical process. Moving it from the analog to the digital age… thus being predicated on the very essence of photography where the object becomes transformed into “an optic foyer.” The photograph becomes the instigator of pictorial dissolution, hence dematerialising the image.
